Lawn and leaf collection season typically runs from the end of July through October. The responsibility falls on both town employees and residential/commercial property owners to keep areas free of debris. Residential Leaf Collection Hoses
For residential landscapers and property owners, tractor vacuums work well to get rid of excess leaves and lawn clippings. The Flex-Tube PV is a medium weight hose designed to work with this equipment. It is a coextruded PVC hose with a rigid PVC helix to provide support and crush resistance.
The Flex-Tube PU is also a good hose for this type of equipment. It’s a coextruded thermoplastic ether-based polyurethane with an ABS helix reinforcement. This hose provides good abrasion resistance, crush resistance, and tear resistance.
Commercial Leaf Collection Hoses
For bigger jobs, like those performed by commercial landscapers, the Flexadux LCDC is a medium weight, high performance polypropylene blend hose reinforced with a spring steel wire helix and external polypropylene wearstrip. It’s built for larger truck loaders and has good drag resistance.
The Flexadux HT-W is a heavy weight thermoplastic hose reinforced with a spring steel wire helix and external polypropylene wearstrip. It offers moisture and UV resistance, which is important when working outdoors. It also offers drag resistance and tear resistance for resilience over time.
Heavy Duty Leaf Collection Hoses
For larger equipment like municipal loaders, heavy duty hoses are a requirement.
The Flx-Thane HD is a heavy weight polyurethane hose reinforced with a bronze coated spring steel wire helix. This material selection offers superior abrasion resistance, moisture and UV resistance, and flexibility needed for leaf collection.
The Flx-Thane VHD is considered a very heavy weight polyurethane hose, also reinforced with a bronze coated spring steel wire helix. The main difference between this hose and the HD model is the wall thickness, which is .060”, compared to .045”.
